Although he has done well in the shows in which he has been, (2 Best Of Winners, 1 Best Of Opposite Sex and many class wins) his most outstanding attributes are his temperament and happy attitude. For over a period of 50 years, with the exception of a two year stint in the army, I have never been with out a dog companion and of all these friends, I have never had another dog that was as happy, gentle and loving as Butch. Though he shies away from virtually nothing, he has never made an aggressive move toward any living creature. He is exceptionally good with children and the infirm. He visits a local home for Alzheimer patients at least once a week and has twice, at the request of teachers who have heard of him, visited local grade school classes where we gave talks about the value of therapy dogs.

Physically, he has good angulation, good strong bone structure and a very good head, which almost invariably draws comments from those who meet him for the first time. He has not yet fully matured ad has some filling out to do. However, he has a good frame to accept the additional weight as he fills out with maturity.
